Neil Young will make his debut at the Byron Bay festival in 2017, backed by his recent band Promise of the Real who appeared at Bluesfest 2016.
UDPATE DEC 2016: Neil Young has cancelled his Bluesfest appearance and Australian tour.
For this guitar-centric, full steam-ahead and highly-charged concert, Young is joined by Promise of the Real, an LA-based rock band fronted by Lukas Nelson (vocals/guitar), along with Micah Nelson (guitar, vocals) and their band. They have performed with their father, Willie Nelson and Young on previous occasions and wowed Bluesfest with their exceptional sets this year.
Much like Young’s longtime backing band Crazy Horse, shows with Promise of the Real are known for their sprawling, epic jams. Earlier this year the group performed a staggering 36 minute version of the classic Neil Young/Crazy Horse track Down By The River.
Neil Young will perform Friday April 14, 2016 at Bluesfest.
