The countdown to Bluesfest 2015 is now on with the first round of acts announced for the Byron Bay Festival. For its first batch of artists for the 26th edition of the festival, Bluesfest takes a distinctly 2010s approach to its headliners with The Black Keys, Zac Brown Band and Alabama Shakes.
In addition to the solid American rock, blues and roots of the three headliners, Bluesfest brings back many favourites and some new sounds to the stages at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm.
Prennial favourites Michael Franti & Spearhead are set to follow up their appearance earlier this year again in 2015. Funk legend George Clinton returns with Parliament Funkadelic. Paul Kelly brings his latest project, the Merri Soul Sessions (featuring Dan Sultan, Kira Puru and Vika & Linda Bull), while Xavier Rudd returns with the debut of his new band The United Nations.
2014 also marks the return of G.Love & Special Sauce, whose brand of blues, rock and hip hop has been sorely missed at Bluesfest in recent years.
Bluesfest 2015 takes place at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm near Byron Bay over Easter 2015, Thursday April 2 – Monday April 6.
