Signed to what almost continually proves itself to be THE Canadian Independent Label, Arts & Crafts, Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Mangan is a guy who seems to have impressed the right people at the right time. Shaping up as the first Arts & Crafts signee from Canada's Pacific North-West, he marks not only an expansion of the label outside of its Toronto base, but it's reach into folkier territories. Regardless of how he's become a part of a shift in a label's vision, Dan Mangan is a musician with broad qualities. He's an artist who'll be happily thrown into Australia's favourite poorly defined pigeonhole of Blues & Roots with his folk tinged electric balladry. Dan Mangan is set to hit Australia this Summer as a member of the formidable line-up to the Peats Ridge Festival north of Sydney. With a local release of 'Nice, Nice, Very Nice' no doubt set for the near future and a solid tour in support of his festival billing, Dan Mangan is a guy who you're bound to get a chance to see this Summer...and I heartily recommend that you take that up.
