British India is ”hotter-than-vindaloo,” Kathy McCabe, Daily Telegraph

If industry interest is any indication, British India looks set to take it to the next level in 2007. The response to its recently completed debut album has been outstanding, with the record due for release early in the New Year.

Black & White Radio is the first single to be lifted from the album and continues to build on British India’s raw sound. The single will be released in November via an exclusive deal with DestraMusic.com that sees Black & White Radio available for download via jbhifimusic.com.au and for streaming through mp3.com.au

Four school friends from Melbourne, British India kicked off in 2005 with their seven inch vinyl single Outside 109, followed by the EP The Time, which both received extensive support by Triple J.

The band spent 2006 producing its debut album with renowned writer/producer Harry Vanda and Glenn Goldsmith, at Flashpoint Studios in Melbourne and Sydney.

Vanda launched Flashpoint Music last year scoring a national #2 hit with The Wrights’ Evie pt 1, 2 & 3. No stranger to British India’s garage-pop leanings, Harry Vanda pioneered power pop in Australia with The Easybeats. He and partner George Young wrote the classic Friday On My Mind and produced amongst many others, eight AC/DC albums.

British India will tour nationally to coincide with the release of its self-titled debut album in March 2007.
