Funk N Grooves festival in Hunter Valley

The countdown is on with just over two weeks to go before Funk N Grooves sets up camp in the Hunter Valley this September. The festival originally morphed from Bimbadgen Blues, but this year F'N'G will settle into its new home at 1882 Broke Road, next door to Tyrrell’s Vineyards.

For years the Hunter Valley has attracted huge artists to headline spectacular outdoor events but in a region best known for its award winning wine the target market has predominantly Baby Boomers. Funk N Grooves is one of the first festivals in the wine country to cater specifically to Gen Y and Gen X music lovers. While the Baby Boomers still make up a large percentage of wine drinkers, 18 to 35 year olds are beginning to rival that number seeking new tastes and better quality.

With large open space, spectacular wine country views and some of the best Australian artist on offer Funk N Grooves is planning to launch into Spring with a bang and our biggest line up yet including Gyroscope, who will be in fine form with their new album ‘Cohesion’ debuting at #3 on the Aria Album Charts earlier this year, Spiderbait which means drummer Kram will join us for the 2nd year in a row , British India whose 3rd album ‘Avalanche’ was released in April, the unique and talented Bertie Blackman, Urthboy, Washington, Resin Dogs and many more.

Since we are lucky enough to be in one of the most gorgeous spots in NSW, we at F’N’G want to do what we can to keep it that way. Each ticket purchased on line results in a donation to Greening Australia to support native tree planting. Posters and flyer printed on recycled paper, biodiesel fuel to power generators and we have a bottle/can recycle system, where you get a discount if you return your empties when you purchase another bottle. If you want to do your bit there is also an optional carbon offset levy you can choose for $2 when you purchase tickets online that will reduce your Carbon footprint.
Here at F’N’G headquarters, priority number one is that everyone has a great time and gets home safe so we have made sure there are plenty of transport options that mean you can leave your car at home. Buses, Hummers and Luxury Cars which will take you to the first festival of the season can all be found at www.funkngrooves.com.au

Funk N Grooves Festival 2010 line up will be our biggest to date and will include Gyroscope, Spiderbait, British India, Bertie Blackman, Urthboy, Washington, Resin Dogs, Calling all Cars, The Bamboos, Skipping Girl Vinegar, Red Ink, Samba Frog and Boston Shaker.
