It's barely a week away now, yet the crew behind Sydney's Playground Weekender keep adding to the features which make it one of the most unique lifestyle festivals in Australia.

Playground has always been a place that wasn't allll about the music. With all manner of distractions from an all-day pool party, pub-in-a-festival and more, it's been almost impossible to achieve boredom. Today marked a day of more big announcements, this time with Wine Bar's, gourmet eateries (where you can pre-book a meal and table to manage the timetable) and assorted other goodies that will keep you fed and watered for the weekend.

1. MELODY WINE PRESENTS YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE:
Style masters BLACK ANGUS (ANGUS MCDONALD - SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM), DANGEROUS DAN (DAN SINGLE - KSUBI) and MELODY WINE will join forces with Playground Weekender to present YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE MELODY WINE BAR.

For the first time at the Weekender, you will be able to buy first-rate wines by the glass or by the bottle in the lush surrounds of a wine bar complete with barrelled seating. Enjoy a bottle of Pinot with a game of giant Jenga, Chess or Connect Four. Or sit back in a hammock with a glass of sparkling and your lover.

With music programmed by BLACK ANGUS and DANGEROUS DAN, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE MELODY WINE BAR is set to be the maverick scene stealer of the festival.

2. FINE FOODS CATERING PRESENTS: FINE FOODS @ DEL RIO:
Take your bottle of wine from YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE right next-door to FINE FOODS @ DEL RIO. Book yourself a romantic table for two or a table for eight to this candlelit 54 seater open air restaurant.
Fine Foods Catering are Brooklyn locals - where the country meets the sea and this is reflected in the purity and simplicity of their stunning local produce. At Playground Weekender, they will be dishing up Broken Bay Pacific and Sydney Rock oysters, wild caught barramundi, 300G eye fillet steaks on Paris mash, the Whinging Pom specialty (bangers and mash), garlic prawns, tender Moroccan style baby octopus, yearling lambs racks in a rosemary and salt crust, grilled fish burgers with kumara fries and more.

FINE FOODS @ DEL RIO are offering Playground Weekender punters an exclusive ‘Set Time and Dine’ package where you can pre book the meal you would like prior to watching your favourite artist on stage. So if you fancy a bottle of red with bangers and mash before watching ORBITAL you can!

FINE FOODS @ DEL RIO is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Full menu available below and reservations for this baby will go fast so please book on site when you arrive. It’s the perfect setting for a hot date, a regroup with friends or the start of another new night full of promise at the Weekender...

3. MAD PIZZA DARLINGHURST:
Bringing a slice of the city to Wiseman’s Ferry is our third addition to the trio of taste - MAD PIZZA. Serving up super thin healthy pizza’s to their loyal fan base in their Darlinghurst restaurant since 2005, MAD PIZZA makes traditional Italian Pizza’s from the freshest possible ingredients from the best possible suppliers.

Their bread comes from Infinity Sour Dough, daily delivered greens from Matt Browns Greens, their chicken is free range and chemical free and their lamb is farmed in the Gippsland area. Playground are tickled pink to welcome the MAD PIZZA sit down restaurant and their red and white check tablecloths to the Weekender.

4. SOCO RIVERSIDE COCKTAIL BAR
Southern Comforts SoCo Cocktail Bar is a beautifully themed riverside space... serving up eight different types of cocktails to dance on your tongue, delight your senses and get your night into full swing.

5. FINLANDIA VODKA POOL PARTY BAR
Playground’s infamous Club Tropicana Pool Party will be turning up the heat this year by teaming up with Finlandia Vodka with a free pour vodka bar at the pool. Don’t forget your swimmers!

Tickets are now in the final release and are available from the Playground Weekender site at www.playgroundweekender.com.au

is boutiquity even a word?

It's 100% not, but it seems to be attracting a surprise number of hits, so it's doing something right. Shakespeare invented like 10,000 words and nobody complained about that.
