The Woodford Files: Wacko and Blotto

Their short bio on the Woodford Folk Festival website describes them as "utterly pointless", and that's exactly what you will love about this clown duo.

You'll find them doing their thing at many festivals around Australia. My first encounter with them was at Splendour in the Grass several years ago. It was late, we were drunk, and watching these guys for what must have been an hour was the only thing in the world worth doing.

Wacko and Blotto are ridiculous, juvenile, repetitive and thoroughly entertaining. Putting their performance into words is next to impossible without looks of "You kidding, right?", so all that needs to be said is these guys are worth checking out.

They've found their way to the Amphitheatre on Sunday December 27, somehow slotted between Lisa Mitchell and Paul Dempsey at 9pm, and you can also catch them around the festival streets on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 10pm.

If it's late, and you spot their trademark caravan at any festival these days, stop in and soak it up. You'll either last a minute or an hour, but either way you'll be enlightened.
