The Woodford Files: Mojo Webb
By Soulshine News
Mojo Webb has carved quite a name and following for himself in blues circles around Australia, particularly Brisbane, and in 2009 he returns to Woodford for a run of his typical high-energy and musically sublime shows.
Undeniably one of Australia's best guitarists, Mojo Webb takes on rock and blues in the same manner as Buddy Guy or Muddy Waters. A legend on guitar with the stage presence that lends itself perfectly to the golden age of the rock-blues explosion of the 1960s, and backed by one of the tightest bands you're likely to hear, Mojo Webb is a true musical experience.
Playing mostly his own tracks but mixing it up with more than worthy renditions of some of the classics of rock and blues, there's never a dull moment in a Mojo Webb set, and he's known for his roaming guitar solos and bar visits, taking a page from Buddy Guy's book of tricks.
Mojo and his band will be at Woodford Monday through Saturday for a total of five performances, including the All-Star Jam Party on the final night of the festival at the Blues & Roots stage at 11pm.
