The Avett Brothers to release album and tour in 2010
By Soulshine News
The Avett Brothers of North Carolina prepare for the Australian release of their major label debut, due out in February 2010. The release will be followed up with a tour including two slots at the Byron Bay Bluesfest.
North Carolina based rock band, The Avett Brothers, are gearing up for the Australian release of their highly anticipated American Recordings/Columbia Records debut, I and Love and You, which hits stores in February 19, 2010. “I and Love and You” was recorded in Malibu, California and produced by multi-Grammy Award winning producer, Rick Rubin. The thirteen songs that make up this new record defy pigeonholing and can best be described as an amalgam of rock, folk, pop and country. The band has spent years touring, recording, performing and perfecting this blend of music styles with their signature lyrics and vocals.
The band’s diverse style and consistent touring, along with numerous independent releases, have helped them build a loyal and rabid fan base. Paste Magazine recently attributed this following to the band’s “great songs, constant touring and a no-holds-barred live show that wins them hordes of new converts at every stop.” The Avett Brothers have toured most of 2009 testing out new material, as well as their older songs. This year alone, the band has performed at SxSW Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, as well as upcoming stops at Newport Folk Festival, Mulberry Mountain Festival, Outside Lands Festival, Britt Festival, Austin City Limits Festival and more.
The story of The Avett Brothers has been told by word of mouth until now. In April 2010 it’s Australia’s turn to witness what thousands have been loyally following and speaking about for years…
