with

Jeremy Brennan | Luke Joslin | Ryan Gibson| Jeremy
Barnett | Christian Young

Musical Director | Jeremy Brennan

__________________________________________________________________________

Amie and the Boybirds are back to satiate your thirst
for tantalizingly smooth, sassy Torch Pop cabaret!

Flame-haired chanteuse Amie McKenna fronts the set
with "millisecond-perfect comic timing" and a voice
“as smooth as a swing in a hammock” (SMH) that will
have you hooked with bated breath.

The Boybirds drive a punchy backup led by Jeremy (King
Casual) Brennan on keys, Jeremy Barnett on drums,
Christian Young on bass and Ryan Gibson and Luke
Joslin bringing dapper style to backing vocals.

Amie and the Boybirds’ distinctive torch-pop sound is
inspired by do-wop, girl-group & jazz cabaret. Don’t
miss their dazzling original material as well as
unique takes on classics from Hank Williams and Rogers
& Hart.

The group already boasts two sell-out seasons at Slide
and Bar Me. They have made sparkling appearances at
the Sydney Food and Wine Fair and The Sydney Opera
House at the FBi Radio Play Competition in 2006.

Join this sizzling addition to Sydney’s hot cabaret
scene for one night only at one of the sexiest, most
sophisticated venues in Sydney, Slide.

The Basics - The Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney (August 19th, 2008)
The Hopetoun hotel was alight with punter interest on a chilly winter’s Tuesday night as cherry-sweet Melbourne rockers, the Basics mingled with Sydney favourites, Cuthbert and the Nightwalkers. Soulshine’s Max Easton was on the scene to keep track.
5 Acts in The Arvo
It was clear from the outset these guys are the real deal and have all the tools to be the next big thing in WA rock.
