Mixing live music, turntables and guest MCs, Resin Dogs produce a mash up of sounds; modern hip hop is drenched with breakbeat, dance hall, dub and funk. In the revolutionary spirit of hip hop they have created their own style.
Quickly attracting major label attention the band signed a dual deal with Hydrofunk Records and Virgin/EMI in 2000. Their debut album Grand Theft Audio was co-produced by Robert Reed of Trouble Funk and released later that year. After the success of Grand Theft Audio and the Live Like Dogs mini album, they were once again keen to get their music to the people and hit the studio to record a second album.
Two singles were dropped during this time - Set It Off featuring underground legend Abstract Rude from the USA, and Take Off with Sydney’s Good Buddha called in for vocal duties. Their second album Hi Fidelity Dirt was released in 2003 and saw Resin Dogs build on collaborative efforts of the past couple years with guesting MCs including LA’s The Pharcyde (Shut Yo Mouth)and UK’s Spikey Tee (Adore You).
Critical acclaim for Resin Dogs culminated when they scooped the Australian Dance Music Awards in three consecutive years - Best Hip Hop Act in 2001 and Best Live Act in 2002 and 2003.

Amid the Aussie festivals and tours Resin Dogs have toured nationally with international artists Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Ozomatli, Kenny Dope, Roots Manuva and Grandmaster Flash to list a few.

And with 6 self promoted tours under their belt they are set to return to the scene in 2008 bigger then ever to support the release of their 3rd album ‘MORE’.
Resin Dogs line up is more than just the core members as there are a number of co-conspirators who join the band for live events and studio sessions. MC DNO, Abstract Rude(ATU), and an impressive line up of guest breakers, MC’s and live players is what makes any Resin Dogs show an experience and their recordings so highly prized. The bands live shows are approached as one big party and the Dogs feed off the crowd. The more people go wild, the more Dogs keep doing what they do and then some, being the first live band in the world to incorporate DVDJ’s into their show also makes their shows a visual experience.
Having impressed many of the visiting international DJs the band are also sought after collaborators. Too many to list them all, recent collaborators include The Nextmen Abstract Rude (Abstract Tribe Unique) Aceyalone (Project Blowed), Mikha9 (Freestyle Fellowship), Mystro, Renee Geyer, Robert Reed (Trouble Funk), The Pharcyde, Jungle Brothers, Mad Doctor X, Kenny Dope, Spikey Tee, Blue Rum 13, Demolition Man, Young Gun,
Fiercely true to their independent roots Hydrofunk Records is once again home to the Resin Dogs and the established base for their many side projects. A force in its own right Hydrofunk has become one of Australia’s strongest independent hip hop labels. In a rarity for Australian hip hop Resin Dogs release their music in Britain, through Jalapeno Records, and also hold various licensing arrangements around the world allowing them to record and release music created especially for the region.
With most of the sounds now coming from the home studio the focus is on playing more live music and working with other musicians. It’s a process that started on the second album Hi Fidelity Dirt, and has come to the forefront on their third album ‘MORE’ released in November 2007.
Definition is the first single from the new album is was released world wide through IODA following its feature on the FIFA 2006 World Cup EA GAMES which sold in excess of 10,000,000 copies. The track is a funky Latin-flavoured slab of Hip Hop beats. Resin Dogs collaborate with ARIA award winning MC Hau (Koolism) and Mystro (Lowlife Records, UK) on the single. Resin Dogs once again up the ante bringing home the international flavours from their overseas touring. The second single ‘Coming With The Sound ‘Feat Haiku D’etat hit Australia in November enjoying High rotation and Most requested on JJJ and also seeing the Resin Dogs make their way on to commercial radio nation wide. With the assistance of UK hip hop heavyweight Brad Baloo of The Nextmen, who also co-producing their album, Resin Dogs third album ‘MORE’ has marked the band’s evolution over the past ten years.
With their recent signing to Premier Artists roster, the Resin Dogs are set to return to the live arena in Australia in fine style throughout ‘08 and ‘09. Whilst still honouring their overseas commitments with a run of shows in USA throughout May and an extensive European tour from June to September..
