Dubmarine

Firing off sonic torpedoes from the depths of dancehall and dub

Obvious puns and clichés aside, Dubmarine are set to breach the surface of collective consciousness. Rising sharply from the depths of Brisbane’s grooving dub and funk scene, the crew are set to seize the nation with the release of their debut single ‘Singie’, the first track from their forthcoming EP Ultrabango.

Their debut five track EP is the permutation of hard work and dub styles – characteristics that have seen Dubmarine packing venues right along the eastern seaboard, as well as playing alongside the cream of the Aussie and New Zealand scenes. Support slots include Blue King Brown, dDub (NZ), Rastawookie, The Dynamic Thrills, The Cornerstone Roots (NZ), The Red Eyes, Declan Kelly and Sydney skankers Kingtide. The lads have enthralled audiences with performances at The Island Time and Reggaetown Festivals, whilst embarking on tours reaching the breadth of the steamin’ East-Coast.

Dubmarine’s debut offering Ultrabango is set for release late-2007, and lives up to the hype and anticipation the impending record has garnered. The CD’s first single ‘Singie’ is delectable precursor to the release, brandishing their renowned deep groove, fluid rhymes, and potent musical spices.

On the wash of a cult following established amongst Brissie’s thriving Valley and West End dancehall scene, the Dub Sub is aimed directly at colonising the nation. Combining reggae, hip hop, dub, funk and dancehall, Dubmarine pack dance floors and leave no ground unstamped.

At the helm of the Dubmarine trust sits indigenous vocal gymnast and ragga-superstar D-Kaz Man. A true lyrical poet, Kaz weaves a spell amongst the barrage of power supplied by the twin percussive force of Matt Burgess (Drums) and Paul Donehue (Percussion). Contributing to the groove is jazz-infected guitarist Jeremie Nagabbo, whilst bottomless bass technician Paul Watson keeps the throttle pressed with his deep sub frequencies.

Enlist with the Dubmarine sub-machine as they stretch the musical spectrum and transport you to the depths of their dub driven groove.

“This is toe-tapping funky, sexy dub at its’ finest.” [In The Mix]
