As the first year in a long time without a Franti, Harper or Johnson on the lineup at Bluesfest, it was clear from the get-go that the festival's organisers were aiming for something slightly different.

This years South West Blues N’ Roots festival was an awesome event. Featuring momentous acts, superior organization and localized to Western Australia, the roadshow filled the Fremantle Reserve with a pure joy.
Point Nepean
Byron Bay is a long way from Melbourne… about 1600kms, give or take a few. For Victorian blues and roots fans, this has always been a thing of torment every Easter, when some of the world’s best performers from the genre descend on the northern New South Wales town. This year however, the inaugural Point Nepean music festival solved this problem once and for all.

The Art of Escaping - Great Escape 2007
Music is definitely an important part of any music festival, however, The Great Escape should by no means be thought of as only a music festival, as the organisers provide their festival goers with a few extra bits and pieces to stir and inspire. Cabaret, comedy, spoken word, circus fun, yoga, markets, cult cinema, trivia, and disco bingo are just some of the creative kicks you can get at this festival, at Sydney’s Newington Armory.
