Regular visitors to these shores & perennial favourites of a big (& ever growing) chunk of Australian music fans, The Shins are just about to release a new single, fittingly enough entitled Australia. Fittingly enough because they are headed back to Australia this August for what will be their fourth tour, a full 18 months since their last visit.

And what an 18 months they've had. Or perhaps more precisely what a 3 months they've had. Since the release of their third album, Wincing The Night Away, in January things have been, in the best possible way, going more than a little bananas.

Wincing The Night Away, an album that retains chief songwriter James Mercer's infectious, indelible melodic style at the core but sees the band successfully embrace a cavalcade of new sounds, debuted number 5 in Australia & number 2 in the USA, an incredible accomplishment for an album released on an independent, pushing the Shins to the fore as one of the most exciting propositions in the crowded confines of indie-rock. With TV appearances (Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show etc), shows at venues like Madison Square Garden, where they would have once only ever dreamed of playing, & big-time festival slots (Fuji Rock, Reading, Splendour in the Grass) The Shins are undoubtedly one of the hottest acts in the world right now. Deservedly so............come see why in August.

The Shins will be supported by New Zealand band The Ruby Suns on all shows.
