Sounds Giving Life is a huge one day festival taking place in West End, Brisbane, on Sunday July 29th. It's run by Aliamos, a not-for-profit organisation working to get community aid direct to projects rather than into the pockets of the middle men.
You don't have to look hard to find a good cause to donate to these days. But how do you know where your money is actually going? We've all read stories about huge aid organisations sucking vast quantities of money up in 'administrative' fees. Even with the best intention, a large organisation does have to meet its running costs to survive.
Aliamos is working differently: highlighting, promoting and interacting with aid projects directly, they cut out the middle man and allow you to read about, learn about and donate your money to a specific project. They even provide the contact details for the projects, so that travellers can volunteer their time and assistance directly. Still in the process of setting up their website, Aliamos is hosting 'Sounds Giving Life' festival: a one day festival promoting compassion, unity and action, in order to raise funds for and awareness of the organisation.
Showcasing over 100 community and humanitarian projects, Sounds Giving Life will feature speakers, performers and a huge range of acts across 2 stages.
After considerable community involvement and negotiation, Aliamos can now confirm that Sounds Giving Life will take place at MUSGRAVE PARK, WEST END on Sunday, July 29th. It commences at 10AM, so come along early and make the most of this amazing day! Entry is just $10 on the door, and this also provides you membership of Aliamos. Get behind a great organisation and what promises to be an awesome day.
