What An Imagination!
July 25, 2007
Canberra artist Imagination describes the songs on his album, the process and the perfect date...
What star sign are you?Pisces, but I don't believe in star signs.
When you were a child, what did you want to grow up to be?I changed my mind about what I wanted to be on too many occasions i.e. engineer, wine maker, chef and many more. I think I always knew somewhere that I would pursue art.
What do you like to do in your spare time?If I'm not working to record and promote acting and stuff, I'm generally writing music or thinking about marketing, artistic progression or using myspace. Occasionally I'll go out for coffee and food or a movie with friends.
What is your favourite meal?Anything that is extremely bad for you i.e. KFC.
What would be your ultimate holiday?Going to France for a couple of years to learn the language and culture more.
What would you like to accomplish before you die?To have a positive impact on millions of people.
What is the motto that you live by?If I don't break into this industry at a young age my changes of doing so diminish extensively!
In 25 word or less describe your perfect date?French, Cute Face, nice smile, sexy ass, not too skinny or too fat; someone who isn't afraid to be themselves despite what others will think.
Describe Imagination?Imagination is the people who listen to the music; I have a very small role to play.
Which song that you have written, is your favourite and why?'With Him'; I really like the song- it's catchy and I love the sound; plus it will be the first song I have finished recording and mastering properly.
Do you sit down and just write songs or do they come when you least expect it?Both. For example, broken- I was walking down the street and just started singing it. A song called 'Find', I sat down and wrote. Additionally, you are always changing songs through the recording process.
Is your music a representation of your life, or do you use it to distance yourself from what's actually happening around you?The lyrics are based around things that are happening in my life, but I do sit down and just sing emotionally and play to release inner frustrations.
Are there any bands/artists that have inspired your musical stylings? On a subconscious level probably; but unlike many artists I don't know much cover material- songs by other artists; I haven’t played anything cover for the last couple of years; I just sit down and start playing; so the style of my music is very different.
If you could do a duet with a musicien who would it be?Probably Mark Hoppus or Tom Delong from blink182.
What would you like to be doing five years from now?In the process of releasing a third or fourth album and planning a tour; been booked in for acting in a movie; running a record label; and writing novella's about my life.
