Pro Show Festival adds acts
Article by James Alexander
The waves have been pumping over summer and it is only weeks away until the world's travelling surfing roadshow descends on the Gold Coast for the first event on the 2007 Foster’s Men’s World Tour.
Slotting in the pocket alongside the Quiksilver Pro presented by Samsung, is the The Pro Show - the newest music event on the summer calendar.
The Pro Show will be bringing you a day of laid back surf tunes right on the sand at one of the Australia's most consistent surf breaks, so you can ride straight out of the waves and into one of the biggest beach parties ever seen on the Gold Coast.

Acts already announced for this major summer celebration include roots/reggae festival favourites The Beautiful Girls, who are close to completing their new album, scheduled for release in mid-2007, and popular 8-piece hip hop outfit The Herd, who will be fresh from conquering the nation as part of the Big Day Out.

Pro Show organisers have reluctantly dragged themselves away from the endless lines of perfect barrels on the Gold Coast points, to lock in more acts and we are happy to confirm the addition of popular blues and roots sensation Ash Grunwald.  An avid surfer who tours up and down the coast endlessly so he doesn’t miss a swell, Ash will be showcasing tracks from his latest album 'Give Signs' and hopefully getting wet once his set finishes.

Other confirmed acts, who are waxing up the boards and slopping on sunscreen, include self-professed hip hop geeks The Winnie Coopers, rising reggae/rocksteady act Rogerthat, son of legendary surfer Nat, former World Longboard Champion and singer-songwriter, Beau Young and North coast roots/rock collective Band Of Frequencies.
And yet there is still more bands and Dj's to be announced in the coming weeks.

Set only 50m from the famous Gold Coast wave magnet, Duranbah Beach, the Pro Show is an All Ages outdoor music festival and will also host appearances by participating Top 44 surfers from the Quiksilver Pro, exclusive Surf Films on the Samsung Big Screen, food stalls, amusement rides, and the D-Bar with live DJ's.
The Pro Show runs from 2pm - 10pm ADST (1pm-9pm Qld time) on Saturday 3rd March 2007,
