Dubmarine Debut CD Launch
Article by Em
Fresh on the scene just one year ago, Brisbane dancehall masters Dubmarine have made a name for themselves as purveyors of grooving dub and funk. After 365 days of dub at its deepest, the dub sub unleashes its first single 'Singie' at The Step Inn on Saturday August 18th.

You are cordially invited to a night of dub, bollywood and dancehall as Dubmarine celebrate their one year anniversary. Brisbane's finest emerging dancehall outfit; Dubmarine will be launching their debut single 'Singie' - Saturday August 18 @ The Step Inn.

One lucky punter will walk away with a free double pass to Queensland's premier roots and reggae festival the ISLAND TIME REGGAE FESTIVAL. Held on Stradbroke Island October 19 – 21, one of the first 30 Dubmarine CDs purchased on the night will contain the double pass.

'Singie' is the first track from the band's highly anticipated EP Ultrabango. Dubmarine have been bunkered down in the studio the last few months laying the foundations for what is set to stand amongst the finest local releases of 2007. With a deep groove, Hindi overtones and a potent mix of musical spices, 'Singie' is a delectable precursor to their debut EP. Earmarked for release later this year, Ultrabango is the permutation of hard work and dub styles – characteristics that have seen Dubmarine packing venues right along the eastern seaboard.

With support cascading through Brisbane's vibrant underground dub culture, 'Dub from the Deep' is set to be colossal.

Joining Dubmarine to help celebrate their birthday are fellow Brisbane dub-heads Heavyweight Champion, bombastic Byron-based outfit Fyah Walk, locals Chocolate Strings, and DJ Andy Dub.
