The atmosphere was truly electric as Kelly joined the band to deliver a mesmerizing version of Paul Simon’s ‘Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes’. The crowd applauded with full love & support prompting the iconic surf champion to take lead vocal position through a super melodic Eddie Vedder composition.
Festival co-promoter Andrew Valder said, “The event was a winner - the weather turned it on, the audience dug it and the surf community embraced it with a turn out from the past, present and future like Jeremy Flores, former world surfing champion Peter ’ PT’ Townend and of course Kelly.”
The Pro Show featured a premium selection of Australian acts spanning roots, blues, hip hop, funk & soul. Live performances included roots connoisseurs The Beautiful Girls, eight-piece hip hop collective The Herd, rock steady heavyweights Rogerthat, one man blues sensation Ash Grunwald, emerging hip hop a The Winnie Coopers and surf-styled singer songwriter Beau Young amongst others.
The Pro Show Music Festival was delivered in conjunction with the Quiksilver Pro presented by Samsung at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast.
Exclusive surf film screenings were also delivered on the Samsung big screen as part of the entertainment program. Films showcased included the a preview of the Bra Boys new feature film production, Quiksilver’s highly anticipated Young Guns 3, Tai Fu plus a slick teaser to Tim Bonython’s 2007 release Wild Australia.
