Wow! Apart from the odd festival show here and there, it's the first JBT feature show in just over a year. The line at the venue continued all the way down to Collins St. confirmed this fact!

Wow! Apart from the odd festival show here and there, it's the first JBT feature show in just over a year. The line at the venue continued all the way down to Collins St. confirmed this fact! After the delayed entry due to an outdated ticketing system, which really does let the excellent venue down, we took our positions to enjoy The Custom Kings. These guys while having immense potential failed to impress the hungry crowd. Hit me with being great background music, but in my opinion with time and experience could be great!

On came JBT and what a spectacular show. John Butler's Spring/Ocean medley was simply divine, a melding of two of his earliest pieces into what ends as an explosive masterpiece. The sold out crowd were eager to hear Betterman, once he started the venue erupted. Zebra, Funky tonight. The band were on fire once again, playing three or four new tunes, one being on the banjo. New look JBT with similar sound. Electric guitar here we come. Old Man and Company Sin followed.

JBT never fail to disappoint, one of those bands where they play strong every time you see them. This gig was no exception.

Note: Bigups to Tim's Pics, awesome job mate. Also, apologies to anyone who was present and upstairs at the Hi-Fi Bar. Thankfully the awesome PA system drowned out most of my 22nd Bday celebrations!! - Caine
